The Vice Chancellor acts as the Chief Business Officer for the District, to whom the CEO delegates significant responsibility including monitoring and executing fiduciary policy and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and board policy.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor of Administrative Services is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of most administrative units and services for the District including Contracts; Risk Management; Accounting; Budgeting; Public Safety; Emergency Preparedness; Insurance; Facilities Maintenance & Operations; Purchasing; Warehousing; Payroll; Physical Plant Construction - Bond Management Services. 

As the chief financial officer for the District, the Vice Chancellor of Administrative Services is responsible for preparation and presentation of the annual district budget to the Chancellor and Board of Trustees, and for overall management of the district budget and compliance requirements throughout the year. This position also serves as treasurer and ex officio board member for the San Jose-Evergreen Community College District Foundation.
