The Vice Chancellor serves as the Chief Business Officer for
the District and is delegated significant responsibilities by the CEO,
including monitoring and executing fiduciary policy and compliance with
relevant laws, regulations, standards, and board policies. The Vice Chancellor
of Administrative Services is responsible for the overall administration and
coordination of most administrative units and services for the District,
including Contracts, Risk Management, Accounting, Budgeting, Public Safety, Emergency
Preparedness, Insurance, Facilities Maintenance & Operations, Purchasing,
Warehousing, Payroll, and Physical Plant Construction - Bond Management
Services.
As the Chief Financial Officer for the District, the Vice Chancellor
of Administrative Services is responsible for directing the preparation and
ensuring the Board of Trustees approves the budget according to the law, and
for managing the district expenses and compliance requirements throughout the
year. This position also serves as treasurer and ex officio board member for
the San Jose-Evergreen Community College District Foundation.
