Did you know the cost to attend a public university in California has risen to at least THREE times that of attending San Jose City or Evergreen Valley Colleges?  As a result, more students and their families rely on our local community colleges to save tens of thousands of dollars.

Recently, our District conducted a Community Survey to assess the community's higher education priorities and our vision for the future. Not surprisingly, continuing to increase opportunities for local students to earn college credits, certifications and job skills or transfer to four-year universities at a reasonable price was the top priority.

Other priorities identified by the community include:

  • Supporting students facing food insecurity and hunger
  • Supporting students facing homelessness
  • Providing assistance to students to keep college affordable
  • Partnering with local employers and tech companies to expand scholarships and financial aid
  • Providing transitional housing for students experiencing homelessness

Over the coming months we will be expanding the conversation and we want to hear YOUR feedback!
