Human Resources serves the faculty, staff, and employees of San José-Evergreen Community College District who are dedicated to providing educational opportunities and critical support services to our students. Our role is to attract the very best talent for our students to ensure that staff, faculty and administrators are skilled in their profession, sensitive to student needs and welcoming to all who come to San Jose-Evergreen Community College District.

Human Resources safe guards the interests of the District and promotes the professional growth, health and well-being of all our employees. We provide direct service and support to individual employees and work with our partners at the colleges and districtwide operations to create initiatives that foster the continuous development of our workforce.

Human Resources Assistant


Advertisement and recruitment services; coordination of screening committee timelines, materials, process status and database tracking. Preparation, distribution, receipt and processing of job announcements and applicant materials; set up and maintenance of applicant database records.

Assistance to the Vice Chancellor: maintenance of historical records for HR Board actions. Negotiations and contract administration support. Faculty and Managers medical leaves.

Classified, Supervisors, and Confidential employees: all employment services, personnel files, database records, classified seniority, TB processing for new employees. Supervisor and Classified Medical Leaves.

Employment processing for short-term, substitute,
professional experts, student assistants and volunteers.

Health & Welfare benefits for active and retired employees, Workers’ Compensation leaves: eligibility and changes; liaison for district medical plans; coordinates ADA requests.
