Purchasing & Warehouse

The Purchasing & Warehouse Department facilitates the flow of goods & services within the guidelines of District policies, state education codes and public contract codes, when and where applicable.

Some of the many services that Purchasing & Warehouse provide are:

  • Bidding & Annual Contracts for supplies, equipment, and services;
  • Contracts & on-call type service agreements for equipment repair;
  • Trash Disposal contract;
  • Food Services & Vending Services contracts;
  • Asset Inventory & Tracking of District Property, such as furniture, equipment, computers, etc.
  • Coordinate disposal of surplus equipment, including pick up, storage, and sale or disposal;
  • Warehouse receiving and distribution of materials purchased, including coordinating return of incorrect or damaged materials;
  • Records Storage & shredding of confidential material and records.

All Purchase Orders, Blanket Purchase Orders, Open Orders, Maintenance Contracts, and any other contracts issued by the Purchasing Department are subject to the terms and conditions in the provided link unless specifically stated by purchasing. PO Terms and Conditions

Please note that all of the referenced Bid Packets must be obtained directly from the San José-Evergreen Community College District Purchasing Department. Everyone involved in the bidding process must notify the referenced contact in the bid to be notified of all addendums.  All questions and communication regarding a bid must go through the referenced contact.

All official notices of bidding opportunities are published in the District's newspaper of Record:  San José Post Record.

Measure G - 2010

On November 2, 2010, voters residing within the San Jose-Evergreen Community College District passed Measure G-2010, allowing the District to issue $268 million in bonds to:

  • Upgrade, acquire and construct energy-efficient, technology-driven teaching classrooms, labs, sites and facilities;
  • To purchase equipment; and
  • To upgrade outdated electrical, plumbing and heating and ventilation systems.

All expenditures are in support of the District's 2010-2025 Educational and Facilities Master Plan adopted by the Board of Trustees on June 8, 2010.  The District recognizes the importance of supplier diversity and seeks to identify and encourage small and disadvantaged businesses to participate in the District's procurement and bidding process.  Please refer to our Outreach Plan.

Please note that San Jose-Evergreen Community College District has a Construction Careers Agreement (PLA/PSA) with the ​Santa Clara & San Benito Building & Construction Trades Council.

Measure X - 2016

On November 8, 2016, voters residing within the San-Jose Evergreen Community College District passed Measure X-2016, allowing the District to issue $748 million in bonds to repair and upgrade San Jose City College and Evergreen Valley College Campuses and classrooms, including:

  • Updating labs for nursing, science, technology and engineering;
  • Expanding educational resources for veterans;
  • Improving campus safety and security; and
  • Removing asbestos and lead paint, among other priorities.

Measure X-2016 will help SJECCD meet the facilities, safety, technology, programs and services needs for student success as identified in the Evergreen Valley College and San Jose City College Facilities Master Plans 2030, which was approved by the Board of Trustees on January 12, 2016.
