It is our Vision as the San Jose/Evergreen District Police Department to preserve a high quality of life and serve the needs of the campus/college community as we carry out our duties.  We will function at our best at all times to become the premier law enforcement agency and a model for Departments of comparable size and service level.

To accomplish our Vision it will be necessary to continually recruit, hire and train quality members of the community to serve the ever expanding needs placed upon us with an emphasis on “Making a Difference” with each and every contact.

As management, we are committed to creatively providing the resources for our employees to be successful as they deliver a service that must be tough on crime and yet compassionate in the treatment of victims and the recipients of our service.

As we meet the challenges of 21st century and a growing community, we will constantly look for ways to continuously improve our service delivery through process enhancement, technology and innovative communication skills.  This will require openness to new ideas as well as commitment to our Mission, Principles and Values.

Register for AlertSCC to receive important emergency information.

The AlertSCC system can send thousands of text and voice messages within minutes to home and business land line phones using existing 411 and 911 databases. The system cannot reach cell phones, PDA’s, computers, and devices for the hearing impaired, unless those cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses are registered with the system.

Registering takes only a few minutes through a simple online process. Anyone who lives or works in Santa Clara County is encouraged to register their cell phone number and e-mail address by going to www.AlertSCC.com. Click on “Participating Cities” to register.

The County of Santa Clara purchased the system and is rolling it out to San Jose, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Saratoga, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Gilroy, Campbell, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, and Los Altos Hills.

  • Residents can register online to add additional cell phones and email addresses to the existing County database of phone numbers by visiting: http://www.alertscc.com
